Why I created Mahjong Social House
How a weekly mahjong game inspired a community
“What surprised me most wasn't the game itself — it was what happened around the table.”
It began with a single question a friend asked a group of us moms during a playdate: "Anyone interested in learning mahjong?" What started as curiosity quickly became an obsession — the strategy, the challenge, the beautiful tiles and tablescapes, and then the culture around all of it.
But what stayed with me most was what happened around the table. For a few hours, life slows down. Phones get put away. We laugh, catch up, challenge our minds, and enjoy genuine conversation. I always leave feeling energized.
The more I played, the more I realized what I loved wasn't just mahjong — it was the connection it created. In an increasingly digital world, people are craving real ways to gather in person, to learn something new, and to feel part of a community.
That's why Mahjong Social House is more than a place to play a game. It's a welcoming community for learning, gathering, and connecting — where beginners feel comfortable taking their first lesson, experienced players find a regular game, and everyone shares the joy of time around the table.
Welcome to Mahjong Social House.
